Role length: 6 months

Hours: 35 hours per week

Contract Type: Hybrid (1 day per week in Pitsea office + 1 day per week in nominated region)

The Role:

Our client is seeking a Damp & Mould Lead to join our busy and dynamic Repairs Team. You will be responsible for managing damp and mould cases across Peabody's housing stock, ensuring compliance with new legislation such as Awaab's Law. The role requires close collaboration with residents, contractors, and internal teams to ensure timely and effective resolution of cases, while maintaining a high standard of service delivery. You will also be accountable for case management, improving service delivery, and ensuring stakeholder satisfaction.

This is a customer-facing role, ideal for someone who is organised, adaptable, and customer-focused. You will need to manage multiple tasks and projects efficiently while adhering to policies, procedures, and new regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage damp and mould cases, including high-risk and escalated cases, ensuring prompt resolution within statutory timeframes.
  • Collaborate with residents, repairs teams, and contractors to deliver effective outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with Awaab's Law and other relevant regulations, safeguarding residents' health.
  • Review repair histories and provide feedback for improvements in processes and service delivery.
  • Lead investigations and resolve issues that may hinder case closure or customer satisfaction.
  • Take ownership of medium and high-risk damp and mould cases, including Category 1 HHSRS issues.
  • Attend contractor and regional offices as required, acting as an on-site point of contact.
  • Work from our clients Pitsea office and your nominated region (North East London, North West London, South London, or North Counties) to engage with local teams and residents.

  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle complex issues and difficult situations with empathy.
  • A detail-oriented and organised individual who can manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of housing regulations and compliance, particularly Awaab's Law.
  • Proven experience in problem-solving and managing escalated, high-risk cases.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Team-oriented, collaborative approach with strong stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
