*Cyber Security Architect, outside IR35 - SC Cleared - Milton Keynes - Up to £650pd - 3 to 4 days onsite

We are looking for experienced Cyber Security Architects who have a strong Cyber Architecture backgrounds and have a proven track record in providing solution design advice to clients.

The ideal Cyber Security Architect will have worked on large scale agile programmes in the public sector. The Service Designer will have to guide the overall programme architecture, producing design patterns and principles.

Our ideal candidate is conscientious, client-focused and able to work to tight deadlines, sometimes at short notice. You are reliable, self-motivated and able to work without close supervision. You are technically proficient with impressive analytic and communication skills; you are comfortable with talking to clients and enjoy the variety of working on different projects. You can code if necessary, and produce high quality written outputs. You are likely to be an experienced architect, with a strong track record of application delivery and possibly with a management consultancy or solution integrator background. Any experience of enterprise-level applications and their integration with other systems would be highly desirable.

Role description

Core Platform Security and Assurance

Provide dedicated Security Architect services to maintain the integrity of the mission-critical core hosting platform.

Key responsibilities include:

• Production of risk and control matrices for inclusion in formal reporting and Security Assessment Summaries.

• Coordination of continuous security assurance activities, including IT Health Checks (ITHC) and formal accreditation reviews.

• Development and maintenance of "Secure by Design" documentation and platform security standards.

• Authoring and updating security policies and operational procedures (SecOps) to ensure alignment with organizational mandates.

• Creation of robust incident response plans tailored to high-integrity environment requirements.

• Conducting ongoing threat modelling and vulnerability assessments for the platform and its associated customer systems.

Project-Specific Security Delivery:

The Architect will support a portfolio of high-integrity clients within the National Security and Public Safety sectors, as well as economic regulatory bodies and central government property functions.

The architect will provide expert security advice and deliver comprehensive risk documentation for a portfolio of high-priority initiatives, including:

• Secure application presentation and remote access solutions.

• Phase 2 integration of Security Operations Centre (SOC) monitoring for the core platform.

• Strategic discovery and requirements gathering for central government and national infrastructure partners.

• Delivery of "Target State" security architectures for large-scale departmental migrations.

• Security oversight for build-phase projects involving international and research-focused government bodies.

• Security architectural support for "Evergreening" and continuous life cycle management programs.

• Validation and control implementation for secure data hosting Proof of Concepts.

Stakeholder Engagement and Consultancy

This includes providing expert consultancy to ensure services are fit for purpose and aligned with desired business outcomes. You will also manage relationships with external partners to assess technical proposals and ensure contractual compliance.

Location and requirements

The role is based in the Milton Keynes area, with 3-4 days in the office.

Active SC clearance required as a minimum.
