Customer Services Assistant

We are currently recruiting for a Customer Services Assistant to join a well-established and growing business based in Kirkby.

This is a varied and hands-on role that combines customer service, sales order processing, purchasing, stock control, and operational support. Reporting to the Customer Services Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring customers receive an excellent service while supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Processing customer sales orders accurately and efficiently.
• Handling customer enquiries via telephone and email.
• Maintaining customer and distributor records, product information, and standing orders.
• Using the company's accounts software package to process orders and maintain records.
• Producing reports and maintaining accurate documentation.
• Raising and processing purchase orders.
• Negotiating with suppliers and tracking orders through to delivery.
• Assisting with stock control and participating in periodic stock takes.
• Helping to maintain packaging stock levels.
• Providing support within the warehouse and dispatch departments when required.
• Ensuring all activities are carried out in accordance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards.

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience within a customer service, sales administration, order processing, or operations role.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
• Confident using IT systems and business software packages.
• Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• A proactive, flexible, and team-oriented approach.
• Experience of purchasing, stock control, or warehouse operations would be advantageous but is not essential.
