Job Description
Overview

The apprentice will receive a salary in accordance with the National Minimum Wage. To succeed we need an enthusiastic individual who is willing to learn, confident in communication, can work as part of a team, and has a strong potential to thrive as an apprentice.

Relevant qualifications and training - Essential

  • Qualified to at least Level 2: either 4 GCSEs at Grade D or above, or an equivalent Level 2 vocational qualification (e.g. BTEC First Level 2 Diploma)

Language needs

  • Listening and Speaking - Intermediate Level: hold conversations on diverse topics, follow discussions in Welsh, contribute to conversation.
  • Reading and Comprehension - Intermediate Level: understand everyday correspondence, longer reports in Clear Welsh.
  • Writing - Intermediate Level: write specific purpose letters, emails and short reports in Welsh and English.
Job Description

Purpose of the Post

  • Receive experience and support in the workplace to complete an apprenticeship and gain qualifications in the field.
  • Provide a high quality administrative service in the field of ceremonies in Gwynedd and assist Registrars in births, deaths, marriages.

Main duties

  • Create accurate and timely records of all births, deaths, marriages and civil partnerships.
  • Deal with internal and external customers by phone, email and face to face, providing high quality professional service.
  • Prioritise work effectively, moving between administrative tasks and customer requirements.
  • Advise on marriage and civil partnership requirements and arrange appointments through the computer system.
  • Support the Ceremonies Co ordinator by ensuring pre ceremony arrangements, documents and ceremony packages are correct.
  • Check venue details, date, time and ensure the ceremony fee has been received correctly and on time.
  • Assist with registration duties, including searching historical records.
  • Contribute to teamwork by supporting additional administrative tasks, marketing ceremonies and reporting safeguarding concerns when necessary.
  • Follow Council policies on health and safety, equality, data protection and carbon reduction.
