We are seeking a Curriculum Manager to join our team. In this role you will provide leadership within a department, supporting and deputising for the Head of Area when required.
The role involves managing staff through recruitment, performance reviews, target setting, and development, while promoting wellbeing and engagement. Supporting student success by monitoring behaviour, performance, and pastoral care, aiming to improve recruitment, retention, and achievement. You will also be required to organise timetables, rooms, and registers to ensure effective resource use and lesson continuity.
A key responsibility is leading internal quality assurance and driving curriculum improvement, including developing new courses and innovative teaching practices. They contribute to staff training and programme promotion, while also supporting budget and resource management.
The role includes handling employee relations issues and maintaining professional standards. Curriculum Managers are expected to uphold safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion, and health and safety policies, ensuring a high quality learning environment and overall curriculum effectiveness.

About the role- Stand in for the Head of Area when required.
- Manage staff effectively, including recruitment, performance development reviews, objective setting, performance monitoring, and supporting staff development.
- Support the monitoring of student behaviour, academic performance, and pastoral care processes.
- Organise and implement timetables, room allocations, and registers, ensuring alignment with course requirements and efficient staff utilisation.
- Lead internal quality assurance processes within the department, ensuring compliance with awarding organisation standards.
- Assist in managing the physical and material resources required to support effective curriculum delivery.
- Support the Head of Area with additional duties, including:
- Promotion and marketing of programmes
- Enhancing curriculum quality
- Managing student recruitment
- Improving student retention and achievement
- Proven leadership experience, including team management, decision making, and the ability to motivate and guide others.
- Evidence of leading and supporting other staff in the development of teaching, learning and assessment.
- Experience of proactive curriculum development, promotion and marketing of programmes.
- Experience of developing effective learning and assessment materials.
- Experience of timetabling.
- Experience of inspiring, challenging and stretching learners during delivery.
- Experience of organising cover for staff absence.
- Proven leadership experience, including team management, decision making, and the ability to motivate and guide others.
- Evidence of leading and supporting other staff in the development of teaching, learning and assessment.
- Experience of proactive curriculum development, promotion and marketing of programmes.
- Experience of developing effective learning and assessment materials.
- Experience of timetabling.
