CTO

Position: Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

Lead the next phase of Fanalysis' product and tech journey. Responsible for building and scaling a consumer-facing mobile app that thousands of football fans use simultaneously, architecting the backend systems that support both the product experience and the delivery of high-integrity, time-sensitive data to our media and commercial partners, and defining how AI and automation reshape every layer of the business.

Responsibilities

• Build and scale a consumer-facing mobile app for thousands of users.
• Architect backend systems that support product experience and data delivery to partners.
• Define AI-native architecture, from internal tools and workflows to content moderation, insight surface, and partner value.
• Lead the thinking on agentic systems, AI driven automation, and intelligent products that learn and adapt.
• Scale platform through high growth, addressing concurrency, latency, caching, and load balancing under pressure.
• Balance fast iteration with technical robustness and long term scalability.
• Build and lead a lean, high performing tech team, set roadmap for infrastructure, tooling, and AI capabilities.
• Work closely with product, commercial, and data teams to bring the Fanalysis vision to life.

Qualifications

• Led the technical build of a consumer-facing mobile app, ideally with a strong community or data component.
• Scaled a platform through high growth, handling concurrency, latency, caching, and load balancing.
• Fluent in data architecture and skilled at designing data stacks, APIs, and dashboards that deliver timely, accurate insights.
• Experience building a B2B data platform, including delivery to third party clients under SLAs.
• Balanced speed of delivery with technical debt management and long term scalability.
• Clear point of view on how AI transforms product, operations, and team structure.
• Implemented AI/ML in production for content moderation, recommendations, NLP, or operational automation.
• Excited by agentic AI and understands how autonomous systems can handle workflows end to end.
• Built or led cross functional engineering teams; can attract, motivate, and retain talent.
• Comfortable working with commercial partners to scope data needs, debug delivery issues, and keep systems accountable.
• Collaborative, low ego, motivated by building something that genuinely improves fan experience.
• Bonus: experience working in sport, media tech, or startups with high fan or user emotion at their core.
• Bonus: hands on experience with LLMs, vector databases, real time ML inference, or agentic frameworks.

This is a full time role based in London; our office is in Soho and we encourage in office presence at least 3 days a week.
