CT Technologist: Advanced Imaging & On-Call Impact

Contributes to the Hospital's mission to care, heal and to excel in service to our community by independently performing Computerized Tomography (CT) examinations meeting ACR imaging standards and maintaining safety standards using state-of-the-art CT scanners, power injectors, PACS, and other related medical imaging equipment. This professional technologist position will have an impact on quality, safety and patient experience.
Job Description Qualifications- Education: Required: Graduate of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology; Preferred: Advanced education in CAT scan technology.
- Experience: Required: One year diagnostic technology; Preferred: One year of CT.
- Other Skills/Knowledge: Required: Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English with patients, visitors and fellow members of the hospital team.
- Licenses, Registrations, Certifications: Required: ARRT registered in Radiology and CT; Massachusetts State license in Radiology and CT.
- Life Support Certification Required: Basic Life Support.
- Population Specific Requirements: Neonates, Infants, Children, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics.
- On-call: Rotation required to cover the hospital location.
- Schedule requirements: Required to regularly rotate through days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
- Travel requirements: May be scheduled at any of the CT locations.
- Reports to CT Supervisor.
- Not responsible for supervising the work of others.
- Greets, escorts, assesses, educates and identifies patients to make them feel welcomed and comfortable, while fulfilling safety and quality checks, including verifying exam orders.
- Completes CT examinations following established exam protocols by the CT Radiologist.
- Administers contrast intravenously, assesses IV site and operates the IV contrast injector.
- Enter examinations correctly, ensuring accurate documentation and appropriate charges.
- Electronically sends and stores images and data in PACS.
- Maintains department records and logs to monitor quality and safety per policies.
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment, presenting the best possible impression of facilities and fostering our culture of safety.
- Responds to supply and equipment issues timely to ensure optimum operations and equipment quality and maintenance.
- Transports and provides ambulatory assistance to patients as necessary.
- Educates and informs patients and family members throughout the patient experience.
- Communicates effectively with the healthcare team using established handoff procedures, providing respectful feedback to enhance teamwork.
- Minimizes preventable harm events and consistently executes infection control protocols. Incorporates Culture of Safety tools, adheres to quality and safety guidelines, and communicates near miss or potential risks.
- Coordinates work schedule with the departmental supervisor and Radiology Manager to maintain adequate staffing levels.
- Procedures and patient type vary based on location.
- The employee must have the physical and mental abilities to perform the duties of the position using the We Care behaviors.
- Contact with blood or other potentially infectious materials may occur during job duties.
- Exposure to radiation during job duties.
- Requirements may vary with patient and operational needs.
$47.00 - $69.84
The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
