Our Crown Court Clerks are essential to ensure Crown Court hearings run smoothly. They demonstrate confidence communicating with the Judge, defence, prosecution and other participants, and are skilled in producing accurate and timely Court documents.

About us

HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS) is responsible for the administration of criminal, civil and family Courts and Tribunals in England and Wales. We support service users and colleagues in delivering justice.

About you

You are a confident communicator, able to speak publicly and liaise with judges, defence, prosecution, media and members of the public in a calm and professional manner.

You are a team player who ensures the smooth running of Crown Courts, intervenes when needed and maximises judicial sitting time.

You have experience producing accurate, time critical documentation, focusing on verdicts, arraignments, court orders and recording hearing outcomes.

You are resilient, eager to learn, familiar with processes and possess IT skills to adapt to new systems and technologies.

Your skills and experience

• Able to speak publicly and within a courtroom environment.
• Excellent communication, organisational and prioritisation skills.
• Ability to complete documents accurately and to deadlines.
• IT proficiency with the ability to learn and adapt to different technologies and software packages.

Location & Working Hours

Base location - Mold Justice Centre, Law Courts, Mold, CH7 1AE. Regular travel to Caernarfon Justice Centre, Llanberis Road, Caernarfon LL55 2DF.

Full time hours: 37 hours per week. Flexible, part time or job sharing options are considered where they meet the demands of the role.
