Crisis Practitioner - Adult Mental Health

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as a Crisis Practitioner within the South Glasgow Mental health Crisis Team as a dynamic member of our multidisciplinary team. Appropriate up to date registration with your professional body is essential.
Responsibilities- Provide support to individuals with complex mental health needs who present in crisis and who require intensive mental health care and treatment at home as an alternative to hospital admission.
- Work closely with inpatient services to facilitate early discharge from hospital.
- Operate under the supervision of a band 7 Crisis Team Leader and Senior Crisis Practitioners, participating in formal line management supervision.
- Carry out ongoing assessment, including risk assessment, while liaising with and updating multiple stakeholders - GPs, CMHT, MHAU, Specialist Services and 3rd sector organisations.
- Supervise the practice of junior staff and student nurses, evaluate their practice, and carry out line management supervision and annual appraisals.
- Post-registration experience as a Registered Mental Health Nurse or Occupational Therapist.
- Experience of managing significant risk within the field of mental health.
- Hold a relevant mental health qualification.
- This is a full-time (37 hrs) permanent post that operates over 7 days between 0900hrs and 2000hrs Monday - Friday, and hrs Saturday and Sunday. Long days are available.
- PVG scheme membership/Disclosure Scotland check is required.
- A current driving licence is essential to the post.
- Pre-employment checks will be carried out as per GG&C Policy.

As from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
