Job Description
Criminal Justice Recovery Worker - Ref 0145ZS

Join our team as a Criminal Justice Recovery Worker in North and East Cornwall.

Our service in Cornwall is recruiting for Recovery Workers to join us in providing high-quality recovery care to a diverse client group. If you are an enthusiastic and creative individual who is passionate about changing peoples lives for the better, we would love to hear from you.

As a Recovery Worker in Cornwall, you'll join us on a starting salary of £28,000 per annum (this includes a £1,000 per annum allowance). This will increase each year in line with our pay progression bands.

In Cornwall, you'll be part of a dedicated local team supporting people across our communities to make positive, lasting changes. At WithYou, we're committed to supporting our staff just as much as the people we work alongside. You'll have access to a supportive and inclusive team environment and a range of wellbeing benefits to help you thrive both professionally and personally.

The role will include covering the courts, prisons and custody suites on a regular basis - working with people awarded a community sentence where mental health, drugs and/or alcohol have been identified. Work closely and collaborate with partner agencies to manage these orders, work directly with individuals released from prison and support multi agency plans around them.

Job responsibilities include supporting people who access the service for help with their drug or alcohol use and improving the work we have already developed around supporting clients within the criminal justice system.

  • Compassionate and motivated with an exceptional ability to build meaningful relationships.
  • Demonstrable experience working within health, social care, criminal justice or other specialist settings, or a clear motivation to work in the drug and alcohol sector.

  • Highly organised, with excellent communication skills and able to manage time effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team to ensure a high quality service is maintained.
  • Passionate about what we do and has a positive and engaging approach to our clients and key stakeholders.
  • Have obtained ONC/NVQ level 3 or be willing to achieve this within 12 months.
  • Demonstrable experience of working or volunteering in health, social care, criminal justice, or other specialist settings with people who have experienced substance misuse issues.
  • Have a driving licence with access to a vehicle.
  • Effective relationship building with clients and colleagues alike.
  • Resilient under pressure and able to prioritise work.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • IT competent.
  • Flexible with working hours on occasion.
  • Willing to support other WithYou locations when needed.
