Cover Supervisor

GSL Education are seeking a reliable Cover Supervisor to support secondary schools across Hull.

As a Cover Supervisor (CS), you will be responsible for supervising classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring students remain on task and engaged with pre-set work.

• Supervise classes and deliver pre-prepared lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
• Maintain a calm, focused, and positive learning environment.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
• Support students with their work and encourage participation.
• Report back to teaching staff on lesson outcomes and behaviour.

• Previous experience working with young people or in a school setting is desirable.
• CACHE Level 2/3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance is preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.
• Confident leading groups of students and following lesson plans.
• Flexible, reliable, and proactive approach to work.
• A valid enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply through GSL.
