Thoseresponsibilities as a public health authority, strengtheningpartnerships with the NHS, supporting climate change mitigation,continuing to explore appropriate commercial opportunities, andfurther building on a strong track record of inclusivity for ourservice users and staff all serve to reinforce the importance ofeffective leadership as the Council embarks on the next phase ofits evolution.

As Chief Executive, you will ensure the quality andsustainability of Hampshire's high-performing core services whileaddressing the challenging financial landscape brought about byservice pressures. You will work closely with the politicaladministration and partners within and beyond the County as LocalGovernment transforms in Hampshire to ensure a public servicesystem that is fit for future purpose. With mayoral electionsscheduled for May 2026, there is much to be accomplished; you willhave the appetite and focus to move with purpose and pace and thecapacity to lead across a broad range, beyond organisational andprofessional boundaries.

You will bring theexceptional ability to lead high-performing organisations throughperiods of transformative change, leveraging the strengths of atalented team while effectively managing a substantial budgetamidst evolving challenges and financial pressures within thesector and system.
