Corporate Tax Compliance Director

We are seeking an experienced and ambitious Corporate Tax Compliance Director (or an ambitious Associate Director) to take a leading role in leading the Milton Keynes Tax reporting team. This team is responsible for the full corporation tax compliance cycle for a varied portfolio of international mid sized businesses. This is a leadership role within a growing and forward looking tax practice at Forvis Mazars, offering strong client exposure, close partner interaction and genuine scope to influence how our compliance function evolves. This opportunity is ideal for someone who is looking for a genuine leadership role - being responsible for the management, local training and setting the tone for the Milton Keynes Tax Reporting team as well as taking overall responsibility for the management of the Milton Keynes portfolio, shaping processes and contributing to the development of a modern, expanding tax team.

About the role

• Being responsible for the overall quality of our end to end corporation tax compliance for a portfolio of standalone companies and groups.
• Review and approve corporation tax computations, returns and tax accounting, including deferred tax and statutory disclosures.
• Act as a Key client contact, delivering a clear, commercially focused compliance cycle.
• Maintain strong technical knowledge of UK corporation tax legislation.
• Manage client financials, including WIP, billing and fee negotiations.
• Ensuring that the local training needs of the Tax Reporting Team are being met.
• Responsible for the career development of the Milton Keynes Tax Reporting Team.
• Being a prominent member of the National Tax Reporting Team ensuring firmwide processes and controls are rolled out to the Milton Keynes team.
• Identifying process improvements on the Compliance cycle and delivering those to the Milton Keynes team and beyond.
• Working with the tax partners in the Milton Keynes office identifying opportunities on existing clients and helping with the tax reporting aspects of new client proposals.

What we are looking for

• CTA, or ACA or equivalent qualified, with strong corporate tax compliance experience.
• ideally at least 10 years tax experience in practice or in-house Milton Keynes based as the expectation is that any successful candidate will be in the office or at clients on average at least three days a week.
• Confident managing a varied compliance portfolio and taking ownership of delivery.
• Clear communicator who enjoys technical details and building trusted client relationships.
• Motivated to progress your career and take on increasing responsibility for leading coaching and mentoring the Milton Keynes Tax reporting team.
