Corporate Projects Support Officer (Fixed Term until 31 March 2028)

About The Role

Fareham Borough Council is looking for a highly organised and enthusiastic Corporate Projects Support Officer to join our Corporate and Community team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys organisation, problem-solving and working with people to support projects that will help prepare the Council for delivery of the South East Hampshire Unitary Authority in April 2028.

You will provide practical support to project managers and services across the Council by:

• Coordinating actions, meetings and workshops.
• Maintaining project plans, trackers and documentation.
• Researching and gathering information to support decision-making.
• Preparing reports, presentations and briefing materials.
• Monitoring progress and helping teams meet key deadlines.
• Supporting reviews of processes and documentation.
• Working with colleagues across the organisation to improve consistency and efficiency.

This role is Grade 3 (job evaluation pending), and fixed term until March (extension subject to future business needs).

About You

You'll be someone who:

• Has experience in an office or administrative environment.
• Is highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
• Can manage multiple pieces of work simultaneously.
• Has good communication and relationship-building skills.
• Enjoys working both independently and as part of a team.
• Is confident using Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.
• Takes pride in delivering accurate, high-quality work.

Local Government Reorganisation (LGR)

As part of Local Government Reorganisation, current plans will see us combine with Portsmouth City Council and the borough councils of Gosport and Havant and parts of East Hampshire and Winchester district councils to form a new, larger unitary authority for South East Hampshire.

We are working towards an implementation date of 1st April 2028, known as vesting day, subject to Parliamentary approval. Until then, we remain focused on maintaining continuity, supporting our workforce, and continuing to deliver excellent services to our residents throughout the transition to the new unitary authority.
