Business FunctionThis role is vital to the success and growth of EQ's UK Shareholder Services and corporate governance advisory business, focusing on delivering corporate governance and ESG advisory services. The primary responsibility is to support the Corporate Governance team through research, data analysis, and industry knowledge, maintaining knowledge databanks, and participating in ongoing training to develop towards a Corporate Governance Manager role.
Core Duties & Responsibilities Corporate Governance and ESG Research- Maintain a regular internal ESG, regulatory, and corporate governance knowledge framework.
- Analyze best practices on voting, CG, ESG, DEI, and industry themes.
- Create and support presentations on ESG and governance developments, shareholder voting policies, and market trends.
- Prepare updates on remuneration, ESG, DEI, and governance issues.
- Conduct research projects and support investor voting policy roadshows.
- Assist team members in delivering advisory services to clients.
- Prepare research, reports, and briefings referencing governance codes, policies, and legal frameworks.
- Conduct risk analyses using internal and third-party systems.
- Participate in client meetings and document minutes.
The ideal candidate will have:
- 1-3 years' experience in corporate governance advisory, analysis, or investor relations.
- Knowledge of UK Corporate Governance Code and Companies Act.
- Proactive attitude and up-to-date industry knowledge.
- Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management.
- Resilience under tight deadlines and a collaborative approach.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to quickly address core issues.
