COOK/CHEF - Part time

Job description

We are looking for a cook to become part of our company's passionate care giving team. Our home's have a friendly and relaxed environment and we put a big emphasis on the food that we serve. The successful candidate must be reliable and fully competent in all aspects of kitchen duties and be able to produce a variety of menus, including catering for special dietary needs.

Cook - 11.5 per week. The shifts will be worked over a 4 week rota including 2 weekends

Responsibilities

To prepare, cook and present well-balanced meals and beverages to the highest quality incorporating, dietary needs as required by the residents of the home using fresh produce and within budget.

Ensure all stock ordered is consistent with planned menus that reflect choice and preference.

Ensure that an excellent standard of hygiene and cleanliness is maintained throughout the kitchen, to meet the required standards of practice prescribed by Environmental Health Agencies

Ensuring the correct storage and rotation of stocks.

Knowledge/Qualifications

Previous catering experience within a care home or commercial setting is preferred.

Food Hygiene Certified Level 2 as a minimum.

A passion for producing fresh, home cooked food, from scratch to the highest standards.

Knowledge of cleaning procedures.

You will have experience or an understanding of specialist diets and food allergies, not limited to: modified/textured diets, Diabetes management, fortification and calorie control as well as specific food allergies.

Effective communication skills, approachable and customer focused.

Pay and Benefits

Cook - 11.5 hours per week £12.21- £13.00 per hour.
