Job Description
About the Role 
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Cook to join an NHS catering team. You will play a vital role in preparing nutritious, high-quality meals that support the health and wellbeing of patients, staff, and visitors.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled cook who is passionate about food quality, hygiene, and making a positive impact within a healthcare environment.
Initially this will be for 3 months. You will be working 6am-2pm or 10m-6pm which will include weekends.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare, cook, and present meals in line with NHS standards and dietary requirements
- Ensure meals are produced to a high standard of quality, nutrition, and presentation
- Follow all food hygiene, allergen, and safety regulations
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment
- Support stock control, food storage, and ordering processes
- Work collaboratively with the wider catering and healthcare team
- City & Guilds Qualification in Cookery (or equivalent) - Essential
- Previous experience working in a professional kitchen (healthcare or large-scale catering desirable)
- Strong knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards (Level 2 Food Hygiene preferred)
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication and teamworking skills
- Flexibility to work both shift patterns
