Job Description

The Japan Amazon Logistics (AMZL) team is seeking a Control Systems Engineer who is experienced, innovative, hands on, and customer obsessed to lead the development of control systems for Material Handling Equipment. You will not only improve the capabilities and quality of existing control systems for mechanical equipment but also design and implement new control systems for newly introduced equipment in collaboration with domestic and international partners to ensure stable operations. These systems include network connected components, and the successful candidate will take ownership of both implementation and post implementation issues, conducting data analysis when problems arise, collaborating with stakeholder departments including overseas partner teams, and consistently delivering high quality systems.

Key responsibilities and time allocation:

  • 40% - Project management, specification development, implementation, and troubleshooting of control systems for new mechanical equipment.
  • 20% - Improvement analysis, project management, implementation, and troubleshooting of existing mechanical control systems.
  • 20% - Research, evaluation, and implementation of new control technologies.
  • 20% - Collaboration with domestic and international teams for project execution, standardization, and development/deployment of best practices.

Required qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as an industrial engineer, operations engineer, manufacturing engineer, or project engineer in a manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor's degree.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Intermediate knowledge of AutoCAD, VBA, and SQL.
  • Experience working with and managing third party vendors.
  • Experience with Six Sigma and lean manufacturing.
