Position OverviewThe Control Systems Engineer will be responsible for the design and development of PLC/software and integration for CNC Grinding Machines. This role involves collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality products that meet the specified requirements.
Reporting to the Systems Engineering Team Leader(NPD) you will be responsible for the control systems design of industrial machinery and integration into our smart factory solution.
This is a key role within the team to participate in control systems integration and develop best practise standards for new PLC development using IEC Standard PLC's.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and deploy complex systems of systems in automated factory program
- Participate in testing and FAT/SAT activities
- Preparationand execution of Work Packages as assigned to agreed Project Milestones.
- IEC PLC code development and integration.
- Technical & Design Reviews and Design Interfaces.
- Timely reporting of Project, milestone or task progress, risks, and issues.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in control systems engineering, with a focus on machine tool design. They will be proactive, self-motivated, and able to manage projects effectively.
- Bachelor's degree in mechatronics, electrical or electronic engineering or related field
- Proven technical competency in engineering disciplines with 5+ years experience related to control systems.
- Experience with PLC programming, particularly IEC 61131-3 (Codesys / Beckhoff TwinCAT) .
- Experience with efficient error reporting system design and fault-finding best practise
- Sizing, selection, setup and testing of electrical and controls hardware
- Industrial machinery design from concept idea to detailed design
- Design for machine safety, risk assessment, safety function design, safety calculations, safety PLC programming and validation
- Machine design for Servo drives, PLC, VFD, and Robots
We are looking for someone with a practical approach to data analysis and a commitment to continuous improvement. Preferred experience includes working with servo drive tuning and safety PLC programming.
