Long-Term Contract Opportunity! Our client, a forward-thinking company in the robotics industry, is driving innovation with autonomous solutions designed to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. They are currently seeking a Contract Mechanical Design Engineer on an initial 6-month assignment, working on a hybrid basis with 3 days on site in Cambridgeshire.

As our client is considered exempt for IR35 purposes, the successful candidate will be responsible for assessing IR35 status, should you wish to operate via your own PSC.

You will join a small design team tasked with a crucial re-design to extend the product's capability and functionality. The role requires experience with Solidworks and Solidworks PDM, design for manufacture, and skills in metal/sheet metal component design. Involvement in the prototype process will require more time on site during that phase. This role is ideal for an engineer passionate about robotics, with a critical eye for problem-solving and a drive to succeed.

Key Skills - Contract Mechanical Design Engineer - Solidworks, Cambridgeshire:

• Proven experience with Solidworks and Solidworks PDM to develop and manage designs
• Design for manufacture (DfM) experience
• Sheet metal component design experience

Desirable Skills Include:

• Finite Element Analysis (FEA) experience
• Autonomous vehicle/robotics experience
