Contract Cyber Engineer

DV Cleared Cyber Security Engineer Newport - ONSITE 6 months (Possible Extension) Up to £90 per hour Inside IR35

Our client, a global leader in aerospace, defence, and aviation manufacturing, is seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Engineer to join our team, acting as a senior technical escalation point within our Security Operations Centre (SOC). You'll ensure our security tools run smoothly, support complex investigations, and oversee the onboarding of new cyber projects into operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and mentor SOC Engineers and Analysts.
• Act as escalation point for SOC engineering issues.
• Manage toolset health, capacity, and availability.
• Support change and release management.
• Oversee the transition of new security projects into SOC operations.

Required Skills & Experience

• Active DV
• Strong experience with SOC tools (IDPS, Firewalls, SIEM/Splunk, Email & Web protection).
• Hands on experience with Cisco ASR, Palo Alto, and Fortinet firewalls.
• Windows & RedHat server experience, including CIS hardening.
