The Role
Reporting to the SRTA Learning & Development Senior Manager, with a dotted line into the Team Leader/Senior Learning Business Partner (Learning HR), you will build trusted advisor relationships with senior managers for your business unit and service line. Using your knowledge and experience of the core HR competencies coupled with your commercial awareness, you will translate your client's business needs into realistic and achievable plans that reflect the overall SRTA Learning Strategy and deliver impact. It is a fast paced and changing environment. Working closely with Design and Delivery teams you will ensure the business agenda for technical training remains on track and on budget. You will be a role model for collaboration to those around you, influencing, coaching, motivating and challenging stakeholders at all levels.
Deliverables but not limited to:
Planning- Build trusted advisor relationships with business stakeholders in the business unit/capability area.
- Support the implementation of a service-line/business unit-specific learning strategy aligned to business and learning CoE strategy.
- Lead the planning and participation of an annual learning needs analysis in business unit/capability area, to develop an understanding of the current and future learning needs (including on-going projects, issues, business drivers, etc.), enabling greater clarity around key issues and the development of effective L&D solutions.
- Input into the annual budget process, leading for the business unit/capability area.
- Represent learning on relevant management committee structures within the business unit/capability area and influencing the agenda to ensure that the learning business case is fulfilled.
- Support ad-hoc learning projects such as course re-design, course development, and early careers.
- Support the learning admin team to complete learning admin and logistical tasks for technical curriculum and learning projects.
- Bring an expert view of the business area and participating in Design & Deliveryteam projects to ensure business solutions are innovative and practical and aligned to business objectives.
- As an expert, lead on business unit/capability area projects, and represent the business area into projects for business-driven technical curriculum, sit in design and delivery project meetings to ensure alignment with client needs.
- Identify and manage/coordinate key business content developers to work within the Design & Delivery construct and ensure the end-product is fit for purpose and delivered within budget and timeframes.
- Develop and provide meaningful management information to the business unit/capability area for learning consumption and quality/risk purposes and to measure the effectiveness of learning and support the achievement of its goals.
- Ensure the business unit/capability area technical learning curriculum, and wider suite of development solutions, remains relevant and can adapt to changing business requirements.
- Collaborate closely with design and delivery teams to ensure the business agenda for technical training remains on track and aligned to the Learning strategy and business case goals.
Your experience/ Background/ Core Skills
- Degree at a Bachelor level preferable
- Professional training / HR development / education qualifications in relevant subject area
- Experience at manager level and have a proven track record in core HR and learning competencies and exposure to the associated risks.
- Experience in complex/matrix work environments with proven track record of effectively engaging with multiple stakeholders and working in the grey.
- Adept at communicating, influencing, coaching, educating, challenging and managing senior stakeholders. Strong financial management/commercial acumen.
- Ability to understand and contribute to the effective development of L&D and OD strategies while understanding the implications from a culture, business success and company practice standpoint.
- The ability to translate client business needs and HR/learning projects into realistic and achievable plans in collaboration with the learning CoE.
- The ability to provide coaching, work collaboratively, and consult effectively and independently with senior levels of the organisation.
- Proven team leadership and management skills and ability to create a high performing, motivating, supportive and collaborative team environment.
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills to address diverse organisational stakeholders at all levels.
