Job Description

The Contentious Probate Solicitor (Partner) is a senior role at a respected national law firm based in Birmingham. The position offers a base salary between £85,000 and £105,000, with remuneration dependent on experience, and requires a minimum of 10 years PQE. Job Reference: 4460.

Job Responsibilities
  • Advise on high value and complex contentious probate matters, including disputes involving wills, trusts, estates, inheritance claims, executorship, and the administration of estates.
  • Drive strategic growth of the practice through business development, networking, and cultivation of new referral relationships.
  • Manage a varied caseload while leading, supervising and mentoring junior lawyers to foster a high performing team.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Existing experience as a Partner, Junior Partner or Head of Department, or equivalent senior management role.
  • Extensive experience advising on all aspects of contentious probate, trusts and estate disputes.
  • Proven track record of managing complex, high value litigation.
  • Strong business development skills with an established network of professional contacts and referrers.
  • Experience leading, supervising, and mentoring legal teams.
  • Membership of ACTAPS and/or STEP is highly desirable.
  • Collaborative approach and a commitment to delivering outstanding client service.
