Consultant in Respiratory Medicine

We have been assigned by one of the UK's more prestigious NHS Trusts to help them recruit a Consultant Physician with an interest in Respiratory Medicine on either a Substantive or NHS Fixed Term basis for 12 months to join their successful Medicine department.

Team and Service Details

You will be part of a team of 11 chest consultants and extensive multidisciplinary teams, contributing to:

• 7-day inpatient care
• Pathway design and implementation of a new Respiratory Assessment Unit and Acute Respiratory services
• Specialist Respiratory Care including TB, Lung Cancer, Sleep, Ventilation, COPD, Pleural Disease, ILD, Specialist Asthma, and Cystic Fibrosis
• Tertiary Centre for NIV, Complex Asthma, and ILD
• General Thoracic clinics
• Interventional pulmonology procedures on both sites

Responsibilities

The appointee will:

1. Participate in planning, development, and delivery of the Respiratory Service
2. Provide direct patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings
3. Contribute to multidisciplinary teams and coordinate patient care
4. Participate in the Consultant on-call rota
5. Ensure continuous care and proper leave arrangements
6. Promote high standards of clinical care and ongoing professional development
7. Develop links with local General Practitioners and develop specialist service elements as appropriate
