Consultant in Gastroenterology

We have been assigned by one of the UK's more prestigious NHS Trusts to help them recruit a Consultant in Gastro on either a Substantive or an NHS Fixed Term basis for 12 months to join their successful Gastro department.

The successful appointee will be asked to fulfil various duties, such as:

• providing outpatient and inpatient clinical support to the general gastroenterology service
• taking part in the emergency on call rota on a 1 in 8 basis
• contributing to the emergency medical and GI bleeding on call services
• working with medical, nursing and managerial colleagues to ensure high performance in regards to performance management
• responsibility for the appraisal of all doctors in training, Trust doctors and non-consultant grades as delegated by the Clinical Director
• participation in clinical audit, incident reporting and analysis and to ensure resulting actions are implemented
• working collaboratively with all members of the multi-disciplinary team, other clinical and non-clinical directorates
