Your role:

The Construction Lead UK & Ireland will be responsible for leading the team of Construction Project Managers. While each department's scope is limited to its specific function, the Construction Lead's duty is to collect the flow of information and consolidate it into project phases, from design to realization and commissioning.

Main responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and lead the Project Managers (2 internal staff + external local consultants) operating in UK & Ireland for brands like David Clulow, Sunglass Hut, Ray-Ban, Oakley, Vision Express, John Lewis Opticians. Total retail network: 700+ stores.
  • Oversee planning, detailed design, and construction engineering for Luxottica Brands Retail Stores in UK & Ireland.
  • Manage construction engineering design on new and remodel projects with local consultants.
  • Select local consultants and permit expeditors from the corporate vendor list.
  • Manage relations with local authorities, malls, airports, outlet centers, and department stores involved in the projects.
  • Prepare reports, specifications, and technical analyses to define design requirements, equipment, and services.
  • Provide technical direction on engineering design, building layouts, details, schedules, and materials.
  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables; create schedules and timelines; assign tasks and resources.
  • Manage budgets, allocate resources, and collaborate with designers, R&D managers, and stakeholders.
  • Lead quality assurance efforts.
  • Monitor project progress, track deliverables, and report to stakeholders.
  • Implement process improvements as needed.
  • Evaluate project outcomes.

Main requirements:

  • Deliver retail stores on time, within budget, and with quality standards.
  • Evaluate and control construction costs and timelines.
  • Ensure quality of store execution and snag completion after opening.
  • Communicate construction constraints and achievements effectively to stakeholders.

Network of interaction:

Internal: Construction, Property-Real Estate, Logistics, Procurement, Planning, Finance, Administration departments.

External: General Contractors, Local Consultants, Permit Expeditors, Material Suppliers, Landlord representatives.
