Construction Health and Safety Assurance Consultant (with BAS-U) - Stockholm - Swedish speaking

One of our Blue Chip Clients is urgently looking for a Construction Health and Safety Assurance Consultant (with BAS-U).

The role will ensure all client legal duties are fulfilled and that contractors are compliant with applicable local and national legislation as well as delivering client's minimum standards of HS&W in construction. The role will work collaboratively with contractors and local site teams to ensure HS&W best practices are in place with strong, leading indicators safety programmes delivering top tier HS&W performance and an incident and injury free environment.

DETAILS OF THE DELIVERABLES TO BE ACHIEVED IN THE PROVISION OF THE SERVICES.

Provide Construction Health, Safety & Wellbeing (HS&W) SME capabilities to support the Sweden portfolio and CPDP process.

Where agreed in project execution strategies, undertake the role of BAS-U as defined in Swedish legislation.

Provide assurance and oversight on Client legal duties, the client project HS&W assurance programme and construction HS&W best practices during design and execution phases.

Provide SME input into the development of the project procurement & execution strategy.

Lead construction HS&W input through the RFP process (design and execution).

Ensure all contractors are correctly pre-qualified and that client only engages competent, safe contractors. Review third party supplier assessments and support escalations/closure of any identified gaps.

Onboard contractor management teams into the client HS&W assurance programme and values, ensuring commitment and alignment with all the supply chain.

Ensure contractors have adequate and competent HS&W resources in place. Review CV's and interview as required. Monitor performance throughout and address any performance or competence issues.

Ensure contractors develop fit for purpose construction phase plans (Arbetsmiljöplan (AMP) & Arbetsplatsdispositionsplan (APD) and project HS&W programmes that ensure compliance with all legislative, client company portfolio and local site HS&W requirements.

Monitor and audit contractor HS&W programmes and conduct regular site inspections and worker engagements.

Establish and facilitate weekly project HS&W leadership team meetings.

Collaborate with contractors on HS&W and cultural continuous improvement initiatives.

Attend and contribute to project constructability/buildability reviews and highlight opportunities to improve construction HS&W, during the design phase of projects.

Ensure there is clarity on transfers of responsibility between client and contractors, clearly identifying duty holders for all areas including temporary construction facilities.

Where possible, taking account of local legal restrictions, ensure the project implements a clear and agreed procedure for conducting drug and alcohol testing of the workforce. Schedule periodic testing and manage any non-compliances.

Ensure all accidents and incidents are reported and investigated by the contractors with input from all appropriate stakeholders, and that root cause analysis is comprehensive. Provide SME input to investigations, recording all events in PM Vitals and client SHE System where required, and ensuring that legal reporting duties to local authorities are complied with, tracking actions to closure.

Ensure project HS&W dashboards are in place and monthly reporting requirements are being met into client projects and Global SHE.

Create and share Global SHE alerts and learning from incidents, ensuring learnings are Embedded across all the Sweden client company portfolio.

Support regional construction SHE networks, aligning on ways of working and construction HS&W best practices.

Support the development of construction H&S leadership skills and competencies across the client project teams.
