Computer Vision Engineer Engineer - Medical Imaging

Contract: Full-time, Permanent
We are currently supporting a leading technology company in the recruitment of a Computer Vision Engineer to join their Vision Software team based in Liège. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of advanced software solutions for the medical imaging industry, helping to shape the future of diagnostic and inspection technologies.
About the Role
As part of a highly skilled R&D team, you will work on the evolution of a state-of-the-art vision software toolkit used in medical image analysis and inspection systems. You will be involved in both applied and strategic research, developing and optimising complex algorithms used in pattern recognition, OCR, 3D reconstruction, and AI-driven image analysis - all adapted to the specific challenges of the healthcare domain.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimise C++ software libraries for image and vision processing
- Research and implement algorithms for 2D/3D medical image analysis
- Apply deep learning and conventional computer vision techniques to improve diagnostic accuracy
- Collaborate closely with product management and cross-functional teams to shape R&D direction
- Contribute to code quality and testing through unit, regression, and integration testing
- Stay up to date with advancements in medical imaging, AI, and software development
Skills & Experience
- Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field
- Strong proficiency in C++ and object-oriented design principles
- Proven experience in image processing, signal processing, and computer vision
- Familiarity with deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn)
- Knowledge of CPU/GPU architecture and optimisation
- Experience with tools such as Visual Studio, gcc, CMake, Git, OpenCV, CUDA, Halcon, etc.
- Python or C# knowledge is considered a plus
- Familiarity with quality assurance practices including automated testing
- Professional proficiency in French and English are both required
