Job Title: Components Engineer

What you'll be doing:

Producing and issuing Airframe engineering design data to meet project requirements in line with design standards and procedures, whilst maintaining quality, cost and schedule adherence

Verifying design data after completion and prior to a formal independent check to ensure compliance with project standards

Evaluating and resolving design problems and supporting the generation of resulting modifications and changes

Working closely with other engineering disciplines and functions, supplier and customer areas, fostering a team-working and collaborative product development environment.

Identifying product technical risks and associated mitigation plans

Leading and managing junior engineers

Your skills and experiences:

Experience in an Airframe Design role or similar product design experiences

HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent qualification or experience in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)

Proficiency with a CAD system, along with experience in a configuration control toolset (PLM) system

Experience of working in a multidisciplinary integrated product development environment, influencing adjacent disciplines

Experience of working with internal/external customers, suppliers and partners

Experience of managing engineering tasks to meet design and programme requirements

Experience in leading engineering staff

Experience in verifying and approving other engineers' outputs

The Airframe Design Engineering team:

BAE Systems have exciting new opportunities for experienced Airframe Design Engineers to join our teams at Warton with the opportunity to work flexibly whilst effectively leading and managing junior Engineers.

The Air(UK) Design Engineering Discipline is responsible for producing the Airframe design definition and physical product design dataset delivery for manufacturing and through-life upgrades, based on a set of configured customer requirements.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to drive the evolution of design processes and methodologies within next-generation toolsets and the cutting-edge 'digital thread' environment. You'll harness the latest advances in simulation, design, analysis, manufacturing, and in-service support techniques to make a real impact.
