Amazon Web Services (AWS) India is rapidly expanding its presence in Financial Services. AWS offers global public cloud offerings with a diversity of GRC/Compliance programs and attestations to enable our customer base. AWS India Pvt. Ltd is looking for independent, passionate, and deeply experienced professionals from the Financial Services industry to provide thought leadership in assisting financial institutions to move regulated workloads and data into the cloud by addressing their specific security, regulatory, compliance and governance requirements. This key position will have high visibility at senior levels of government agencies, institutions, and AWS, including interaction with CISOs, CTOs, CCOs, CROs, and their teams.
Key responsibilities- The position, as part of the AWS India Financial Services team, will act as the primary Governance/Compliance interface for Financial Services institutions.
- The candidate will already have, and continue to foster, key relationships, interpret the impacts of policy changes, and track and report on industry trends.
- Experience reviewing and understanding guidelines & regulations that impact financial services institutions using cloud service providers (e.g., third party outsourcing, operational resilience, data privacy and cyber security).
- Ability to take the initiative and influence at a senior level across their organizations by providing guidance to vendor management, security, technology and risk controls teams.
- Experience engaging in cross-industry forums and groups.
- Experience motivating others and generating results, and sensitivity to diverse stakeholder perspectives across IT, security, risk and controls teams in a financial company.
- Experience engaging with regulators directly or in cross-industry forums is helpful.
Ensures readiness to adhere to regulatory requirements and industry standards. Research and prepare for customer meetings and calls. Collaborate with account teams and cross-functional teams to:
- Manage customer meetings and cadence calls
- Support evolving regulations and industry standards
- Communicate new requirements within internal teams to drive compliance
- Research and stay updated on relevant laws and regulations
- Own corrective actions to ensure compliance

Basic Qualifications- Bachelor's degree
- Experience presenting to both technical and non-technical executive audiences
- 10+ years of experience in Financial Services compliance, legal, or governance
- 5+ years of hands-on experience developing compliance/regulatory documentation
- Experience working with senior corporate/government officials and/or auditors
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Indian FSI business knowledge
- Business-level English language skills
- Experience influencing internal and external stakeholders
- Familiarity with technical assessments and audit methodologies for technical systems (network, OS, application security) and IT auditing
- Familiarity with cloud computing services and deployment architecture
- Innovative compliance approaches in non-traditional IT environments (cloud)
- Public speaking proficiency
- Understanding of RBI, IRDAI, and SEBI regulations and how they relate to cloud use
- Experience building successful compliance programs
- Experience defining compliance roadmaps based on customer requirements and ensuring timely delivery of assessments
- Experience onboarding compliance for financial services workloads
