Job Description

THE COMPANY:

Our client is a successful corporate bank. They are looking for someone to provide hands-on generalist compliance advice and support to the London branch.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Anti-Money Laundering (AML) / Countering the Financing of Terrorism (CFT)/Sanctions:

  • Provide 2nd line review of on-boarding documentation and periodic KYC reviews for final sign off
  • Review and analyse name screening reports
  • Conduct daily manual transaction monitoring
  • Maintain the Branch's KYC review register
  • Work with the Group's Compliance AML Team on the establishment and implementation of AML policies, procedures and controls/systems in the Branch
  • Prepare AML/CFT Management Information to meet local and group requirements
  • Draft internal communications on current money laundering and terrorism financing events and themes to increase awareness across the Branch.
Generalist Compliance duties:
  • Assist in the maintenance of all Branch Compliance Policies and Procedures including the Compliance Plan and the Compliance Review Plan
  • Support in the annual update of the bank's risk assessments
  • Assist in reporting of regulatory issues and breaches
  • Help prepare and submit monthly reporting on compliance matters and issues
  • Facilitate compliance training sessions and monitor and maintain compliance training records
  • Keep abreast of developing regulations impacting the Branch
  • Complete all mandatory training within the assigned timeframes
  • Uphold the UK Regulatory expected Code of Conduct at all times.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • Previous experience within Compliance in a UK regulated bank or branch with exposure to wholesale banking/corporate banking activities
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, AML, CDD, anti-bribery and corruption, and data protection requirements
  • Commercial and pragmatic approach to compliance
  • Ability to operate with sound judgement and effective escalation under deadline pressure, balancing quality with pace
