Job Description

OCR Alpha is working with a leading global multi-strategy investment firm to identify a Compliance Officer to join its growing London team.

This is a broad, hands-on compliance role within a lean and highly collaborative function, offering the opportunity to work closely with investment professionals across a range of strategies and asset classes. The successful candidate will have meaningful exposure to both day-to-day advisory work and wider compliance projects, with scope to take ownership as the platform continues to grow.

This role will be 4 days/week in the office, with the option to work one day from home.

The role will include:
  • Providing day-to-day compliance advice to trading and investment teams across a range of regulatory and market conduct matters
  • Advising on MNPI, wall crossings, information barriers, restricted lists and conflicts of interest
  • Supporting trade and communications surveillance and investigating potential market abuse or conduct issues
  • Managing regulatory reporting and disclosures across UK and international jurisdictions
  • Supporting compliance monitoring, policy development and regulatory change
  • Working on broader compliance projects, including process improvements, systems enhancements and new business initiatives
  • Liaising with Legal, Operations, Technology and other stakeholders to develop and enhance the firm's compliance framework
  • Supporting regulatory enquiries, audits and ongoing engagement with regulators and exchanges
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Approximately 5-8 years' compliance experience, ideally gained within an investment bank, hedge fund or other trading-focused environment
  • Strong experience across compliance advisory / Control Room, with a good understanding of MNPI, market abuse and information-barrier frameworks
  • Exposure to trading businesses, ideally within a multi-strategy, market-making or proprietary trading environment
  • A broad understanding of UK/EU regulatory requirements, with international experience a plus
  • The ability to operate autonomously and take ownership in a lean, entrepreneurial environment
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to work directly with traders and senior stakeholders
  • A proactive, practical approach and a willingness to get involved across different areas of compliance

This is an excellent opportunity for a compliance professional looking to move into a high-performing investment environment, with genuine breadth of responsibility and the opportunity to work closely with the business as the platform continues to develop.
