Compliance Manager

About the Opportunity

Our client, a fast-growing fintech firm, is looking for an experienced Compliance Manager to lead their second line of defence (2LoD) Compliance function. In this leadership role, you will report directly to the Head of Compliance and play a critical role in embedding a culture of compliance and ethical conduct across the business.

Your primary focus will be ensuring the organization's adherence to applicable financial regulations, with particular emphasis on preparing for MiCAR-the upcoming EU framework for Crypto Asset Service Providers. You'll help shape and execute the regulatory strategy while also supporting international expansion and engaging with regulatory bodies and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and mentor the 2LoD compliance team (currently five team members)
• Oversee regulatory compliance programs, with a focus on MiCAR and other relevant frameworks
• Provide regulatory advice to business units and offer independent challenge to key stakeholders
• Support international growth by assessing compliance requirements in new jurisdictions
• Collaborate with the Head of Compliance to track regulatory changes and implement timely responses
• Lead compliance monitoring, testing processes, and regulatory impact assessments
• Manage relationships with regulators, auditors, external vendors, and industry working groups
• Co-manage the compliance committee and produce relevant reporting and documentation
• Promote awareness and education on compliance matters across the organization

What We're Looking For

• University degree in Law or a related discipline
• 5+ years of experience in second line compliance at a fintech, broker, exchange, or similar financial institution
• 1-3 years of leadership or team management experience
• In-depth knowledge and experience with MiFID II (required)
• Familiarity with MiCAR is strongly preferred
• Strong background in compliance monitoring, testing, and impact assessments
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to drive change
• Transparent and collaborative approach to decision-making
