The role

As a Compliance Engineer based within the Shiplift Nuclear Facility, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. We are seeking experienced Engineers to help improve standards and relevant good engineering practice within a Nuclear Facility.

Day-to-day, you'll be providing engineering and operations support by coordinating nuclear safety-implicated design changes, updates to nuclear safety management arrangements, and addressing compliance shortfalls against the Nuclear Facility Safety Cases and MOD Authorisation Conditions (AC). Additionally, you will:

  • Assist the Shiplift Facility Manager in complying with the extant Nuclear Facility Safety Cases.
  • Ensure that all tasks are carried out in accordance with Babcock's cost, time and quality requirements.
  • Implement the Company Safety, Quality and Environmental policies within the facility, ensuring that risk assessments are conducted to promote safe working attitudes and practices.
  • Identify, analyse, investigate, diagnose, and generate solutions to engineering problems.
  • Investigate, plan, progress and manage a variety of projects within the Shiplift Facility, while working with the operations planning team to produce, review and amend planned preventative maintenance documentation.

This role is full time, 36 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements.

Experience of the Compliance Engineer

• Nuclear Facility Systems and equipment (Training can be provided as part of the role)

• Nuclear safety cases (Training will be provided as part of the role)

• Safe Systems of Work.

Qualifications for the Compliance Engineer

• Degree in Engineering Discipline or HNC with significant experience

• Working at Heights (Training can be provided as part of the role)

• Confined Space Competent Person (Training can be provided as part of the role)

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
