We are seeking a Compliance Business Analyst (BA) to play a pivotal role in driving critical compliance projects, with a focus on Transaction Monitoring and a cutting-edge data analytics platform (Sherlock).

As the Compliance BA, you will be responsible for requirements gathering, business and functional specification development, and testing activities, ensuring that compliance operations are supported by robust and efficient technology solutions

The role:

  • Gather, analyse, and document requirements to produce high-quality Business Requirements and Functional Specifications.

  • Act as the primary Business Analyst across the project life cycle, ensuring alignment between business needs and technical solutions.

  • Formulate and present solutions to business stakeholders, including analysis and calculations using production data.

  • Develop and execute testing strategies, including test plans, test cases, system/integration testing, and supporting user acceptance testing (UAT).

  • Compile and present test results and project updates to stakeholders and management.

  • Identify, document, and escalate project risks and issues where necessary.

  • Support Project Managers, Compliance, and Technology teams with subject matter expertise, problem-solving, and solution design.

  • Act as a translator between business and technical teams, ensuring clear, non-technical communication of complex topics.

  • Provide guidance on technology solutions with an awareness of the vendor landscape.

  • Write and execute SQL queries to perform systems analysis and evidence-based investigations.

  • Deliver accurate, clear, and actionable data and insights to enable effective decision-making.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in requirements gathering and documentation for compliance-related projects.

  • Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, with hands-on experience in test planning and execution.

  • Ability to write and run SQL queries independently for analysis and issue resolution.

  • Strong Excel skills for data handling, analysis, and reporting.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to present findings in a clear and concise manner.

  • Familiarity with data analytics platforms (ideally Sherlock or similar).

  • Previous experience in Transaction Monitoring projects within financial services.

  • Prior Business Analyst experience specifically within a Compliance or Financial Crime function.
