Compliance Advisor - Building Safety

Salary: £40,000 to £48,000
Location: London

Are you knowledgeable about the Building Safety Act 2022 and passionate about ensuring safe residential environments? Would you like to support compliance within a complex property portfolio, helping to safeguard the safety of residents and staff alike?

We are seeking a dedicated Compliance Advisor to support building safety operations across university halls of residence. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining compliance, managing safety documentation, and liaising with operational teams.

Key responsibilities
  • Monitoring and coordinating compliance tasks, ensuring safety checks and operational procedures are completed on time.
  • Maintaining accurate records of safety assessments, FRAs, and Safety Case actions, escalating issues as needed.
  • Facilitating effective communication between Residence Managers, Estates, and contractors regarding safety inspections and remedial works.
  • Supporting the maintenance of the Golden Thread information by providing validated operational data and ensuring safety documentation is up to date.
  • Reviewing Resident Safety Plans (PEEPs/GEEPs) for completeness and operational readiness, supporting emergency planning and risk management.
The ideal candidate will have
  • A good understanding of the Building Safety Act and fire safety regulations
  • Experience managing compliance within large property portfolios, ideally within residential accommodation or similar environments.
  • Relevant professional qualifications such as NEBOSH, CIOB, RICS, or IFE.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and organisational skills.
