The Compensation & Benefits Manager reports to the Director, People & Culture and is responsible for the design, administration, compliance, and continuous improvement of the resort's compensation, benefits, and reward programs. This role ensures that compensation and benefits practices support Fairmont Southampton's talent strategy, market competitiveness, financial objectives, and employee value proposition. The Compensation & Benefits Manager partners closely with Finance, Payroll, and operational leaders to deliver equitable and compliant programs that attract, motivate, and retain talent., Compensation Strategy & Administration
Compensation Strategy & Administration- Administer and maintain compensation programs, salary structures, job evaluations, and pay practices.
- Conduct market benchmarking and compensation analysis to ensure external competitiveness and internal equity.
- Support annual compensation review processes, merit planning, and salary adjustments.
- Review and provide recommendations regarding job classifications and salary ranges.
- Analyze compensation trends and provide recommendations to leadership.
- Manage the administration of employee benefits programs, including health, wellness, retirement, insurance, and employee assistance programs.
- Serve as the primary liaison with benefits providers, brokers, and consultants.
- Ensure accurate enrollment, eligibility tracking, and benefit records management.
- Support colleague education and communication regarding available benefit programs.
- Review benefit utilization and recommend enhancements as appropriate.
- Ensure compensation and benefits programs comply with applicable employment legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain policies and procedures relating to compensation, incentives, and benefits administration.
- Monitor legislative developments and industry trends impacting compensation and benefits programs.
- Support internal audits and compliance reviews.
- Ensure confidentiality and security of employee compensation information.
- Develop and maintain compensation and benefits reporting dashboards.
- Analyze workforce trends, compensation metrics, turnover data, and benefit utilization.
- Prepare reports and recommendations for executive leadership.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities related to salaries, benefits, and labor costs.
- Provide workforce cost analysis to support strategic decision making.
- Participate in the development and enhancement of recognition, wellness, and reward programs.
- Support employee engagement initiatives through innovative reward strategies.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems, and employee experience.
- Evaluate compensation and benefits programs for effectiveness and return on investment.
- Recommend process automation and efficiencies where appropriate.
- Partner with Finance and Payroll to ensure accurate administration of compensation and benefits programs.
- Collaborate with department leaders regarding workforce planning and compensation decisions.
- Support recruitment efforts through competitive compensation analysis and offer guidance.
- Provide training and education to managers on compensation and benefits policies.
- Assist the Director, People & Culture with strategic workforce initiatives.

- Experience administering compensation and benefits programs in a complex organization.
- Hospitality, luxury resort, tourism, or multi department operational experience preferred.
- Experience with compensation benchmarking and salary structure development.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS), or equivalent designation preferred.
- Strong knowledge of compensation principles, salary administration, and benefits management.
- Understanding of employment legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Advanced analytical and quantitative skills.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, HRIS, and reporting systems.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
- Ability to interpret and communicate complex compensation information.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information.
