Job Description

To actively remove vegetation, build bird boxes, and remove litter.

We are seeking passionate and motivated volunteers (18+) to participate in a community project aimed at revitalizing our local environment. The project will run for approximately two weeks, starting in the first week of December, and will focus on litter picking, artistic projects, tree cutting, vegetation removal, and woodwork (bird box making).

Choose a role you would like to do: just bird box making, litter picking, or the removal of any vegetation.

Volunteers will work in an outdoor setting during office hours, Monday to Friday. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain new skills, contribute to environmental sustainability, and make a positive impact in the community. Travel expenses will be covered.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in litter picking to improve the cleanliness and appearance of local spaces.
  • Assist with artistic projects, such as painting and decorating community areas.
  • Help with tree cutting and vegetation removal to maintain and preserve green spaces.
  • Engage in woodwork activities, including the creation of bird boxes to promote local wildlife.
  • Work collaboratively with other volunteers and supervisor, to ensure project goals are met.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and a strong work ethic throughout the project.
Qualifications
  • Some general knowledge of the outdoor provision would be advantageous but full training will be given on the day.
  • Enthusiasm for working outdoors and engaging with nature.
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills in environmental work and creativity.
  • Team player with the ability to work cooperatively with others.
  • Reliable and punctual, committed to attending the project during the agreed dates and times.
  • Physically able to carry out tasks such as litter picking, tree cutting, or woodwork.
  • Creative mindset (for artist roles) to help beautify community spaces.
  • Good time keeper, reliable and able to provide own transport.

This role is perfect for individuals who are looking to give back to their community, enjoy working outdoors, and want to be part of a project that leaves a lasting positive impact!
