Community Project Manager

We re looking for a purpose-driven and people-focused Project Manager to lead an exciting new behaviour change campaign within a respected national environmental charity.
Job Title: Community Project Manager
Salary: £22,344 per annum pro-rata (£39,900 FTE)
Contract: Fixed term until February 2026 ASAP Start
Location: Hybrid, with travel to the Heckmondwike area as required
Hours: 21 hours per week
About the Role
This is a rare opportunity to lead a pilot campaign designed to empower local communities to take meaningful environmental action. As Project Manager, you will oversee all aspects of project delivery from planning and implementation to evaluation supported by a skilled and collaborative communications and campaigns team.
You ll be working within a forward-thinking charity with a national reputation for innovation, evidence-led impact, and strong community partnerships.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the delivery of a community-centred behaviour change campaign
- Managing operational planning, risk logs, schedules and evaluation activities
- Building and sustaining partnerships with key stakeholders and local groups
- Line-managing a part-time Project Officer
- Collaborating with internal teams to align messaging and maximise impact
- Co-creating campaign communications with the charity s comms team
- Monitoring and managing project budgets and reporting to the Campaign Manager
- Representing the organisation at meetings, workshops and community events
This is a hands-on role where your leadership will directly shape the campaign s success and potentially inform wider national work.
About You
You re an experienced project manager who is passionate about people, place and positive change. You bring both structure and creativity to your work, and you re comfortable managing complexity while keeping community needs front and centre.
You ll be able to demonstrate:
- Proven experience of managing complex or multi-stakeholder projects ideally within the charity, environmental or public sector
- Confidence in engaging diverse partners and communities
- Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
- Experience of managing budgets and delivering project reports
- Familiarity with hybrid working tools and processes
- A strong interest in sustainability, community development or behaviour change
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel occasionally for project delivery
