Community Engagement Volunteers

The Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary is an important part of our Island's community and we're building our relationships with local groups and schools. We offer:

• A supportive team environment - many of our volunteers call the sanctuary their 'happy place'
• A beautiful location with over 100 donkeys, ponies, mule and horse in residence
• Training and support in your volunteer role
• A discount in our shop and café for volunteers

What this role involves:

• Hosting and assisting with group/school visits to the Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary
• Providing information about the sanctuary in an appropriate and engaging way, following sanctuary guidelines
• Following basic health and safety and safeguarding procedures
• Helping set up and tidy away

Skills

• Friendly and confident with people
• Good verbal communication
• Comfortable supporting and encouraging people whatever their ability
• Able to follow basic safeguarding and health & safety instructions
• Team player and reliable
• No previous animal experience required!
