Join Different Strokes, a national charity led by young stroke survivors for young stroke survivors. There are 100,000 strokes in the UK every year, and 1 in 4 of these happen to someone of working age or younger. We aim to promote independent stroke recovery and help younger stroke survivors to reclaim their lives.
We are a small national charity that really cares about what we do. We are currently looking to expand our team, and to devote additional resources to support our network of local groups across the UK, which provide vital peer support for stroke survivors in a face-to-face setting.
We have around 30 autonomous local groups, which are all volunteer led. As the Community Administrator you will work closely with our Volunteer and Groups Co-ordinator, and provide vital administrative support.
ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible for such activities as data collecting, ensuring group documents and paperwork requirements are up-to-date, providing monthly updates and ordering marketing materials.
You will help to ensure that all our group volunteers receive the support they require, and respect the autonomy that groups have to make their own decisions, while ensuring that they work within the framework of Different Strokes and that they meet compliance requirements. The ability to communicate effectively with group volunteers and other third parties, by phone, email and through online platforms, is essential.
