Communications Volunteer (Social Media)
Posted 4 hours 15 minutes ago by OPTIMISE FOUNDATIONZ
We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, and creative Communications Volunteer to help us to reach and tell as many people as possible (teenagers, parents, sports coaches) about our work.
You are an experienced communications professional who understands how to use social media to build a community and translate our education into compelling stories and campaigns that inspire action. You enjoy making compelling stories and content for posting on Instagram, Facebook, Blue Sky, TikTok and linkedIn
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a pioneering movement in grassroots sport and make a genuine difference to the lives of girls and women across the UK.
The role:
We are ideally looking for a longer term commitment - someone who can volunteer with us on a very flexible and parttime basis for at least three to six months to really get our social media outreach up and going. Everyone who volunteers with Optimise is a professional in their own field, bringing their skills to advance equality and women in sport, so everything we do is rewarding, highly impactful but also highly professional. Working in your own time and schedule, you will:
Liaise with our Head of Communications and Outreach and Head of Programmes to plan out a social media plan - including audience, tools and messages.
Develop and deliver fun and engaging content on social media.
The who, what and why:
At Optimise Foundation we believe every girl and woman deserves the opportunity to thrive in sport, supported by new knowledge and understanding of their unique physiology.
In 2020, 94% of sports performance research focused on men. Women's bodies, with their menstrual cycles and hormonal fluctuations, were largely overlooked - leaving a critical knowledge gap in grassroots sport. We set up Optimise to change that.
We are coaches, health professionals, athletes, teachers, and parents - united by a passion to translate cutting-edge female physiology research into practical action across all sports. Our mission is to empower girls and women with the information and support they deserve to optimise their training, performance, and health.
Through consultation, education, and action, we aim to create a world where female athletes of all ages can thrive, and conversations around puberty, periods, and menopause in sport are embraced - not sidelined.
