Job Description

I am working with a fast-growing healthcare technology company that is looking to appoint a Communications & PR Lead.

This is a 12 month FTC to cover a maternity leave. Hybrid working, but with a minimum of 3 days a week in the London-based office.

With the current comms lead going on leave at the end of October, the ideal would be to find someone who can start asap, giving time for a handover. However, the key for them is to find the right person, and they see this as more than just plugging a gap. In addition, with the business growing rapidly there is a genuine possibility this role could extend beyond 12 months, maybe even go perm. As such they are happy to consider someone with a notice period that goes into November and beyond.

The non-negotiable aspect of the brief is experience in the health sector. If that overlaps into the scaleup / tech space, that's a bonus. It's not just about having knowledge of the media, issues, and ways of working in this sector, it's about giving you the best starting point in terms of regularly advising their go-to market teams, and other senior execs on translating their goals for the business.

The role reports into the Head of Marketing, who in turn reports into the VP of Clinical. Both are very supportive of this role, and really understand and embraces the value of PR and comms.

The other key is finding someone who will thrive working in a growing, fast-moving company. That's not to say this person needs to be working in a startup / scaleup business. Agency and in house candidates will be considered. It's more that you will need to be suited to a role where you'll be doing a bit of everything, and things will frequently change direction.

It's a role that blends strategy and execution. The ability to plan, but then deliver your plan. That could be media relations, crisis comms, brand content, thought leadership, or even owning podcast production from end to end.
