We're looking for a Commis Chef to join our kitchen team at Whipsnade Zoo

As a Commis Chef, you'll support the kitchen team in delivering freshly prepared food to the thousands of guests who visit Whipsnade Zoo each year. Working with experienced chefs, this role provides a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills in a busy hospitality environment.

Whether you are starting your culinary career or looking to build experience in a professional kitchen, we'll support your development and help you grow.

What you'll be doing

• Assisting with food preparation across a range of menu items
• Supporting chefs during busy service periods
• Maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness
• Learning kitchen systems, recipes, and service procedures
• Helping with deliveries, stock rotation, and basic kitchen organisation

What we're looking for

• A passion for food and willingness to learn
• Previous kitchen experience is helpful but not essential
• A positive attitude and strong team ethic
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Flexibility to work weekends and peak visitor periods
