We're looking for a German-speaking Commercial Manager to manage a portfolio of high-value clients in the energy trading sector in German-speaking countries. You'll be the primary commercial contact, responsible for driving revenue, identifying client needs, and delivering innovative Trayport solutions that help our clients succeed.
This is a consultative sales and account management role focused on growing existing relationships and uncovering new opportunities within your portfolio.
Responsibilities- Manage a portfolio of prospective and active clients within the energy trading sector, serving as their primary commercial contact.
- Drive revenue growth by aligning Trayport's solutions with client needs and long-term objectives.
- Build trusted, consultative relationships by understanding each client's goals, challenges, and competitive landscape.
- Proactively identify opportunities within existing accounts and generate leads through strategic account development.
- Act as a strong internal advocate for your clients, collaborating with product, technical, and leadership teams to deliver impactful solutions.
- Lead the full sales cycle for new products and clients, including pipeline management, commercial discussions, and contract negotiations.
- Expand engagement within client organisations by increasing product adoption, venues, and trader participation.
- Build and maintain a senior-level network within the client base through meetings, presentations, industry events, and Trayport-hosted engagements.
- Represent the voice of the client in internal strategy discussions, contributing to long-term planning and product development.
- Fluent in English and German is essential
- Strong negotiation and sales skills
- Knowledge of energy markets and customer base
- Results-driven - you are a proactive, goal-oriented individual focused on financial and strategic success.
- Influential - you act as a trusted advisor whose knowledge and judgment are valued by clients and senior management alike. Knowledge of trading market structures, market dynamics, and an interest in trading and clearing operations are important.
- Resilient - able to handle setbacks and continue striving for success.
- Strong technical aptitude and curiosity about client solutions.
- Deep understanding of trader, exchange, and inter-dealer broker client bases, with the ability to influence and shape Trayport's strategic and product plans on behalf of clients.
- Excellent relationship-building skills with 'C' level and senior decision-makers.
