Job Description

We are currently recruiting a CNM 2-Radiology Nurse Managerfor a leading hospital in Dublin, Ireland .
Responsibilities- Provide leadership and strategic direction to the Interventional Radiology team, ensuring alignment with departmental and hospital objectives.
- Oversee the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centred care by monitoring clinical standards and advocating for patients throughout the peri-operative journey.
- Lead the recruitment, development, performance management, and retention of nursing staff while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Manage the daily operations of the department, ensuring appropriate staffing, efficient workflows, availability of equipment and supplies, and effective budget control.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary care by working closely with radiologists, anaesthetists, surgeons, nursing teams, healthcare coordinators, and other clinical departments.
- Drive quality improvement, risk management, regulatory compliance, and policy implementation, while supporting accreditation and audit processes.
- Maintain compliance with infection prevention and control standards, including hand hygiene, standard precautions, safe waste disposal, and adherence to AORN and EU peri-operative nursing standards.
- Promote effective communication through staff meetings, mentoring, counselling, problem-solving initiatives, accurate documentation, and efficient use of clinical information systems such as Meditech.
- Support clinical operations by participating in direct patient care, including scrub duties when required, and contributing to unit-based quality improvement initiatives.
- Attend mandatory meetings, education sessions, and training programmes, while remaining flexible to support other departments as required to meet patient care needs.
- Registered General Nurse with active registration in good standing with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in Interventional Radiology nursing, with at least 2 years in a progressive nursing management or leadership role.
- Strong clinical knowledge of Interventional Radiology procedures and peri-operative nursing practices.
- Sound understanding of AORN and European peri-operative nursing standards, including aseptic and sterile techniques.
- Demonstrated knowledge of national healthcare strategies, clinical governance, and evidence-based nursing practice.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, mentor, and effectively manage a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly in written and spoken English.
- Strong critical thinking, clinical decision-making, teaching, and problem-solving abilities with a commitment to continuous professional development.
- Excellent planning, organisational, and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
- Flexible, adaptable, and innovative, with the ability to support departmental rostering, internal rotations, and changing service requirements.
