Job Description

We are hiringCNM1; Oncology Day Unit intoa Hospital in Dublin, Ireland.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and manage the daily patient care operations of the oncology day unit, ensuring efficient workflow and high standards of patient care.

Assess staff competencies and assign patient care duties appropriately, while delegating tasks in accordance with professional and legal guidelines.

Administer prescribed cytotoxic chemotherapy to oncology patients via cannula, Hickman/PICC line, or portacath in line with hospital policies and safety protocols.

Provide patient and family education regarding chemotherapy treatments, care plans, and available cancer support services.

Maintain clear communication with the Clinical Nurse Manager and multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective patient care and service delivery.

Ensure accurate clinical documentation, risk management, and compliance with hospital policies, infection control, and safety standards.

Support staff development and training, including supervising junior staff and students, and participating in education and quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

Registered General Nurse with a valid NMBI licence in good standing.

Recognised post-registration qualification in Oncology Nursing.

Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience, with at least two years in oncology nursing.

Competency in venepuncture and IV cannulation.

Experience in the administration of cytotoxic chemotherapy drugs.

Strong teaching abilities, leadership skills, and professional judgement.

Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and multitasking skills, with a commitment to continuous professional development.
