CNC Programmer

Role: CNC Programmer

Location: Croydon

Salary: Up to £40,000 depending on experience

We are currently looking for an experienced CNC Programmer to join a well-established engineering/manufacturing business. This is a great opportunity for a skilled engineer who enjoys working on precision components and improving manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities include

• Create, modify, and optimise CNC programs for milling and/or turning operations
• Set up and prove out programs on CNC machines
• Work closely with setters/operators and production teams to ensure efficient manufacture
• Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Select appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds to improve cycle times and quality
• Carry out program troubleshooting and continuous improvement activities
• Ensure all work meets quality and safety standards

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a CNC Programmer within a manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of CNC machining (milling and/or turning)
• Experience with controls such as FANUC / Siemens (or similar)
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Strong understanding of machining principles, tolerances, and materials
• Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience with CAD/CAM software
• Background in high-precision engineering (aerospace, automotive, defence, etc.)
• Experience with multi-axis machining
