CNC Programmer/Setter

Location: Newbury

Salary: Up to £55,000 per annum

A leading engineering organisation within the advanced manufacturing sector is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer/Setter to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled CNC professional looking to work on high-precision components across sectors such as Aerospace, Automotive, Defence, and Medical.

Role Responsibilities

• Program, set, and operate 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC milling machines and CNC Turning Centres.
• Produce high-precision components to tight tolerances across multiple high-performance industries.
• Manage tool life and implement sister tooling strategies.
• Set up and run one-off development parts as well as small-to-medium production batches.
• Support the identification of manufacturing needs, equipment requirements, and new facility integration.
• Contribute to key projects and ongoing continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Operate and manage multiple machines during shifts.

Skills & Experience Required

• Strong manufacturing knowledge of Hard Metal machining/finishing.
• Experience in fast-paced, evolving manufacturing environments.
• Ability to confidently read engineering drawings, including GD&T.
• Skilled in tool setting and tool probing.
• Experience with Edgecam or Vericut is beneficial.
• Experience with Heidenhain or Fanuc controls is advantageous.
• Comfortable working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
• Proven background in programming, setting, and operating 4- and 5-axis CNC machinery.
• Fluent English; additional languages are a plus.
