Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and optimising CNC programmes to produce high-quality components efficiently. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong background in CNC machining and the use of Doosan Machines with mechanical knowledge, and CAD/CAM software. The position involves working closely with the production team to ensure precision and adherence to specifications, utilising a range of tools and materials handling techniques. The role is paid and suitable for applicants eager to contribute to innovative manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and optimise CNC programmes for milling machines and other CNC equipment
- Interpret technical drawings and specifications using CAD software such as SolidWorks and CAD tools
- Set up CNC machines with appropriate tooling, fixtures, and materials
- Monitor machining processes to ensure quality standards are met and troubleshoot issues as they arise
- Adjust programmes based on feedback from inspection or production staff to improve efficiency and accuracy
- Maintain detailed records of programme versions, modifications, and machine settings
- Collaborate with the fabrication, assembly, welding, and materials handling teams to ensure seamless production flow
- Perform routine maintenance checks on CNC equipment and assist with minor repairs when necessary
- Proven experience in CNC programming within a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of fabrication processes, milling operations, and tooling selection
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks and other Hypermill programmes
- Mechanical knowledge including familiarity with math skills for calculations related to machining tolerances
- Experience with materials handling, assembly, welding, and the use of hand tools in a workshop setting
- Good understanding of mechanical principles relevant to CNC machining operations
- Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately and translate them into effective programmes
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
